Biography

Oct 31st.

"You sure you know where to go?"
"No. Since when did I say that?"

Once upon a time in the gloomy forest stood two young children: very curious, very confused and very lost. A little wondering from their party had led a youth and its even younger sibling off a crude path into a wood of sorts (though a prominent lack of trees would suggest otherwise), and would abandon them there. The former had previously suggested, as reasonably as they could among its anxieties and fears, to not lose themselves further among the hazy murk and to stay visible, though their deep seated panic soon called for hasty squirming and heavy breaths as they scrambled from their posts, later only slightly muted by their growling stomachs. A cliché, cartoonish end it would seem, comical in that fate wouldn't grant this duo a happy ending or throw them back to their home to pretend nothing ever happened.

Being inexperienced in Sornieth at the time was only ever an advantage to a morbid trickster and the fool who wished to live in a blissful death - wordlessly yet fortunately for the two, the sentiment seemed to have resounded within their wretched hearts. Disregarding all the whispers offering to drive them mad, the children picked their way through the all too beautiful fungi to a humble fallen log, to get some rest to prepare for their near future. Although it seemed all too close to an unfamiliar and therefore hostile clan, gambling their survival now, near death, seemed to carry slightly less semblance of an issue. The younger loudly munched on a leaf growing out of the rotten black body before crawling under, while the elder tore off a bundle of roots to chew in frustration and secure both their hideouts.

Certainly not much to survive on, but perhaps enough to let them brave their sorrows after a drift of dreams.

The youngest woke up from a night of squirming and kicking while the adolescent relaxed its jaw from a midnight exercise. It was vague how many hours they had spent lying in their little shelters, but between their waking and unconsciousness, their bodies and the clothes they had gathered seemed to have been intact by the judgemental forest for now. Despite their nervous rest, a few hours seemed to do better for their minds the most - they came together to huddle for warmth before silently signalling some grand plan for their rescue before they finally set off for an adventure home, though not before tearing off some more chew toys for the journey.

Round and round and round they went, not realising such a platitude wouldn't take them anywhere. They searched high and low and wide and far, yet it seemed nowhere lead home. Dragons and myths, large and small haunted the trees as the waking hour approached, all seemingly scrounging for nothing but fights with any passersby, scowling at themselves in the shadows, or crunching on somebody else's children. Run, run, run, they ran, until they were back where they once began. Down on their knees went they, fallen back into their piles of hay.

Hitherto, there had been no idea in their naive minds how truly dark the grove would bloom once the seeping sunlight had bid its farewell. But once simply having to locate their little houses became a blind scavenging task, their memories blanked with fear.
