 Born of plague and rot, the city was burning when they fled, death tainting the smoke so it filled the lungs and never left. She was too young to combat the sickness, rotting disease stealing her every breath, until a doctor with a peculiar mask gave her another, more fatal disease to fight the fever. The diseases fought as she struggled not to drown in her own blood. But then, suddenly, she could breathe again. Her parents thanked the Plaguemother, but the plagues were not finished with her. She developed a poisonous kiss, learned only when a nursemaid asked for a kiss on the cheek and screamed as her flesh burned away at the touch. She was cursed to love only from afar, and cold she became, ever-wearing a pretty mask to hide her pretty mouth with its' terrible consequences. She did not mind, in fact, she found it useful. For she would wander alone at night, waiting for predators to strike - only for them to be left screaming prey with a single kiss. She only ever smiled when she saw them writhing. Now, she hunts these predators wherever they may be, monster or dragon alike, and they call her many names, but the one she likes best is Blood Widow. | ________________ |
