Aethos

One moment, you were wandering the forest, and then the next you were falling into some sort of catacombs. Now you sit there, injured and your eyes wide as you try to see into the crawling darkness. Usually there's some sort of light you can see by, and you'd think that the hole above you would provide some, but this darkness seems impenetrable. Almost as if it's not really the shadows you're used to watching the sun manipulate. What is this darkness? From the way it seems to be moving, and from the discordant voices you hear coming from it, you'd think it's alive.

The darkness comes closer and you try to shift back, but you're already against a wall. The darkness comes closer. You start to see shapes like mouths. Beaks and muzzles and everything in between all at once. You begin to see limbs. Paws and hooves and legs and arms, wings and tails. The darkness is ever shifting and you can't keep track of it.

The voices are distracting you. They seem to be calling for you - but for different reasons. The darkness is crying, shouting, whispering, pleading, laughing, silent, all at once. It's making your head spin.

But then a voice cuts above the rest, seeming to come from above you. You look up to see a Guardian staring at you from the hole you fell in through, eyes a piercing blue with some sort of black.. thing dripping from each socket. "Have fun with my friends. We look forward to your taste."

The black substance, when it falls from their eyes, crawls to join the rest of the darkness.
