”For all my life, I've never seemed to be able to fit in.”

Befitting of his role as the Head Scribe, Frieros acts more humble than proud, easily passed in a busy conversation. He prefers the silence of old books and towering shelves over a social situation. He is also quite aimless, although he still has a single passion - cartography - that he sticks with. Frieros likes to lightly explore and push boundaries, although he isn't willing to see how far he can take something before it rebounds on him. In quiet moments, Frieros shows his more melancholic side, and he often contemplates why his parents didn't want him.

Frieros came from a family of entirely Guardians, and like the rest of his kin he was expected to find a charge. However, the urge never arose: Frieros never felt that instinct to attach himself to anything. Seeing that their child lacked the drive, his parents abandoned him. Frieros wandered heartbroken for many years, eventually getting picked up by a group of pilgrims heading to the Icefield.

What may strike some as strange is Frieros's familiar. At first, it's easy to miss it, but eventually one must recognize that the teeny tiny glowing pocket mouse on the scribe's desk is his pet. Frieros named the little creature "Ember" and is quite fond of it, relying often on its glow to guide him through the library. Despite the size difference, Ember has little fear of the Guardian. It likes to ride on his shoulder.

____Tucked against Frieros's side at all times is a large, yellowed map, sitting snugly in a well-maintained case. When you ask him about it, he excitedly pulls it out, unfurling it on a nearby table. The detail on it is astounding. With a grin, Frieros speaks:
