Biography
(vuh LEN see a)
No but in all honesty Valencia is a total b but she'd kill herself if it meant saving her family. When her life fell apart, she fought tooth and nail to get through hell and make a name for herself. She has learned every major language and dialect, and can speak almost all without an accent. She's an operatic singer, plays the violin, piano, flute, and cello, writes, embroiders, and cooks. Valencia knows how to play people- she's like the Cleopatra of the Court (not the character Cleo, the Egyptian Queen). She comes in right after the War and secures herself a high-ranking seat in the Triumvirate without allegiance to any of the major powers. Andalusia avoids her at all costs, but Valencia keeps an eye on her. She doesn't want to lose her sister again; Andalusia is the only one she has left.
-
Auralis high-key hates Valencia. She's everything Auralis could have been if her life wasn't ruined by Cygnus. The main difference between the two is that Auralis is less focused and Valencia is less ruthless. Cia knows what she wants and how to get it, but she won't stop at nothing. She doesn't care if there's some collateral damage, but if the cost is too great, she'll stop. That being said, Valencia isn't scared to get her hands dirty; she'd just like to avoid doing so. Valencia would never sacrifice those she loves, and she loves her sister more than anything in this life. If she knew about Okorra, Valencia would throw the whole demon away and take Andalusia out of there immediately, consequences be damned.

Valencia had a passionate relationship with Lord Valerio Ascuara VII (vuh LEHR ee oh' | ahs coo AHR uh'), firstborn of Valerio Ascuara VI, Marquis of Seralta. Their families were close friends, but the Ascuaras weren't important enough to justify a marriage with the eldest daughter of the Zitaras. So Valerio was betrothed to Valencia, the second eldest and the craftiest daughter, and arguably the most beautiful. Valerio seized that opportunity wholeheartedly, and Valencia fell in love with him. But when he spoke of treason, Valencia shut him down. She would never, never turn against family. The Zitara family was old Ice blood, and though they had begun to adopt Fire culture, their values held true: blood over all.
But Valerio wanted their riches and their titles, and Valencia was his only path to that. In one horrific night, the Zitara summer home that her parents, their infant daughter, and Andalusia were staying at was burned to the ground. Valencia was the only surviving heir; she was visiting the Ascuaras in preparation for her upcoming marriage. When she heard the news, she was inconsolable. Valencia knew Valerio had to be behind it, but without definite proof, she could do nothing. In the following months, she married him, uniting their houses and crowning Valerio Duke of the Ashen Isles. Valencia challenged his every move, carefully watching for the one moment he slipped up so she could ruin him. Valerio knew this, and he knew he would have to get rid of her, too, if he ever wanted real power. And so he fed her the rumor that her beloved sister Andalusia was alive and in hiding, not believing it to be true. It was enough for Valencia to leave her lands in the charge of her lady-in-waiting, Vivianne, and drop everything to find her. If she found her sister and could bring her back, she could expose Valerio for what he is and return her sister to the throne before that conniving snake could kill her first.

Cinnabar wants to take her as his attendant. He says if she'll do that, he'll bless her and her sister. Valencia says he can shove his help up his you-know-what and she'll be damned before she's indebted to a shifty, obsolete god and wasting her life serving one. Cinnabar then cursed Valencia to not be able to see Andalusia, even if her sister was right in front of her. Normally, Valencia would be more polite, but she's read about the Divine and their dealings, and all texts on them say to get out of there ASAP and Do Not accept their help.
