Gith was once a soldier, a particularly valued one - he was bred for war, his skin the color of his own mother’s blood. He climbed the ranks of the Plague flight like a nasty virus, infecting the ranks until he was decorated in crude metals, symbols of his wealth and prowess that shine like bits of broken glass. For a very long time, he was comfortable - he brought victory to his flight, honor to his namesake, and awe into the hearts of young hatchlings wherever he went!

But, alas, nothing good lasts forever. Hotheaded and arrogant, Gith would take on challengers every moment of every day - sometimes, when all the confidence had been beaten out of those who dared to test him, he would perch on a ledge and taunt passersby. With a hiss, he would attract enough malice from travelers and locals alike - but more often than not, it would be those from other flights who would challenge his goads.

One day, Gith made the mistake of squaring up to a fae clad in purple - within moments of opening his mouth, the fae cast upon him a spell that caused his skin to blister and bubble and burn, a foul odor rising from the wound. It was as if someone had spilt acid upon his hindquarters, the pain almost unbearable and his joints buckled under the sudden nausea sweeping over him - but he could not afford to be weak.

Local dragons looked on, and those with bones to pick with Gith (who were chock full of cowardace) were beginning to swoop in, dodging the fae and her magic, taking swipes at his quivering legs and shuddering wings. With no other choice, he fled - only three legs were functional, but he continued to run until the barren land bloomed to life again, sickly fungus slowly transitioning into soft, damp grass.

Hellebore was waiting for him, long before he could be spotted on the horizon. She stood menacingly,
