Dereides is a companion and friend of Arven's that he's known since before accidentally founding this small clan. Though he's not a dragon, he is still as much a part of their clan as any other and is welcomed openly whenever he comes to visit.

"...Are we ready for this?" Arven nervously glanced down at his partner, who was perched on his shoulder. The Mirror's tail swished across the bedding, betraying his nerves. Three small Arcane eggs lay in the nest before them. The sight of it filled Arven with a swirling range of emotions he could scarcely even begin to parse.
The much smaller Fae's fins spread and folded slowly, exuding an air of calmness, but despite her expression, Arven knew Elvira shared his anxieties.
"Yes. We will be alright," Elvira's fins rose up in confidence, though Arven's keen eyes caught the way they faltered slightly. "We were not ready then, but it's been many years. We've grown and changed and learned since then."
She tilted her head to look up at him, her bright eyes meeting his. "Yes. I believe we are ready for this."
A small, hesitant smile touched the corners of her mouth. Joy and elation rose up in his chest. Arven couldn't help but smile back.
