Biography
Kirafii's egg was found in an abandoned nest of a hydra which contained a recently hatched hydraling. Intent on defending what it saw as its own, the hydraling's heads hissed as Paratrax, the Clan's precursor and leader, approached the nest to see if he could gain the creature's trust.
Seeing the loyalty in the creature's eyes Paratrax prayed to Shadowbinder for aid as he wished to not kill the youngling, or let it destroy the dragon egg in its possession. The goddess answered with a swirling mist that engulfed Paratrax and began ebb at his magic inclinations. Though not a mage, he channeled what powers he could in an attempt to commune with the powers the Shadowbinder gave upon him.
In doing so he felt his mind twist and shake by a will not his own. Knowing. rather taking it on faith that it was the Shadowbinder, he let the foreign will take hold and he soon found himself staring at the hydraling with two sets of extra eyes. The creature became calm allowing Paratrax to approach it and retrieve the dragon egg.
However he felt not the urge to leave with it immediately, and lied down next to the serpent and in return, seemed to coddle next to him. Feeling the energies of the shadow binder quickly swirling away, Paratrax knew he had little time to leave safely with the egg and lifted into an armored pocket within his armor with careful claws, not wanting to be burnt by it as it was clearly a fire dragon's egg.
The hydraling whimpered and Paratrax walked away and began slithering after him. The shadowy vision through extra eyes that he had been granted tore away from him and before he realized it, had reformed into an adult hydra before him. The shadowy serpent kept slithering on quickly, mist trailing its every move until it had disappeared into the magma encrusted lands.
The hydraling stopped, but kept making despondent cooing sounds as it stared off into the direction the mist-hydra disappeared off in. Paratrax approached it carefully and lowered his head towards the small serpent. The hydraling didn't hiss at him. Instead it looked at him longingly and without much coaxing with his wing, had slithered onto his back where it lied next to the glowing armored pocked where he placed the egg.
After returning to their lair with his expedition mates, Paratrax discovered that the hydra and the hatchling that became of the egg were inseparable. Though what was more surprising was the fact on how behaved the hydra was.
Unsettling, was the fact that lingered on Paratrax's mind that the Shadowbinder asked not for anything in return for the favor. What trick had she played upon him for taking in these two volcanic younglings? The thought of it etched worry ever on his mind.
