Sparkdancer, the Lightning Representative

Flying is overrated anyway.

Sparkdancer was born and raised at The Source. Where at birth, her parents noticed her special eyes and made it their mission to teach her the ways of the lightning. Her mother Einna taught her everything she knew about the Shifting Expanse and their god, the Stormcatcher. Her father, Kedoesh, taught her how to survive in their barren landscape. She learned quickly, and they found she had lightning abilities at a young age. When storms brewed, her eyes would spark like mad and her family would have to leave the area for their own safety. Her mother always stayed as close as possible to comfort the sparking hatchling.

As an adolescent, Sparkdancer was already quite the dangerous hunter. However, the entirety of her skill wasn't intentional. She mainly hunted from the sky, and when she found food, would dive like a hawk and extend her back legs. However, at the last second for an unknown reason, her lightning abilities would go crazy and electrocute her prey, frying them as she would then clamp her claws around the carcass. Her lightning extends up to 5 meters, so escape wasn't guaranteed for the prey.

Because she didn't know how to control her lightning, and neither did her parents, this became a serious problem. Her siblings and parents were at risk anytime a storm came around, which was fairly often. One day, she was flying with her siblings to scout for spare parts, her eyes were already going crazy, but they rubbed it off as just an episode. About 30 minutes into their flight, they came upon a massive stormcloud. The winds were raging and they were sucked into the storm. Her lightning abilities went mad, worse than they ever had before. They shot out up to 7 meters, almost reaching her already struggling siblings. Knowing that if she electrocuted them, she would kill them. They were high up, falling from this would mean death, so in a desperation, she somehow managed to direct all the lightning to herself. She became a tesla coil. Her sparks still shot out, but only about two feet now. It was agony. The lightning in the clouds were entering her body through her spines and long claws. It rippled through her body, sent her into a fit. The storm passed, and finally, it was over. However she was unconscious. She began to fall from the sky, and her siblings, despite being weak, immediately came to her aid and caught her just in time before dropping her and collapsing themselves.

When she woke up, her family was standing around her. Her mother in tears and her father trying to comfort her. Her siblings sat there, and one pulled a smile on their face. "Hey, your awake. How do you feel?" They asked, and she shook her head. "My muscles...they hurt and don't feel right..." She mumbled. She slowly lifted her head and saw her front long talons were discolored. She then looked at her body and was shocked. She was left scarred from the storm. "I think they look cool." Said one sibling, trying to comfort her. Sparkdancer smiled a little "You know, I think so too." Despite saying this, she went on to cover most of her body in apparel that would hide her scars, and help conduct her electricity. She now also stayed on the ground, only flying when absolutely necessary. She even left the Shifting Expanse, afraid of being caught in a storm, never wanting her powers to go berserk like that again.
