Well-known for his pleasantry, Phineas has been playing second-in-command all his adult life. Soft-spoken, gentle and good-natured, those intimidated by Orias instead come to him for advice and guidance, and he is more than happy to provide if he can.

The lair's resident mechanic (when he’s not playing second fiddle to the lair’s leader), he spends his days tinkering with gadgets and contraptions that may or may not come in handy, every so often throwing out something of real value – light-resistant goggles for the photophobic Dysis, or the much-appreciated splints on the wings of Icarus. Every little helps, he likes to think.

In whatever spare time he has left, he manufactures miniature clockwork familiars for the hatchlings of the lair - so simple for him to produce that if one breaks, it's no matter of contention to simply build a new one. The untimely death of his mate and their only clutch of unborn eggs assured that Phineas would never raise young of his own – there is no future, as far as he is concerned, without her – but entertaining the little ones with trinkets and toys eases the wound somewhat. A family of his own is long out of reach, but every now and then, it helps to pretend otherwise.
