Biography
PERANTHIA [She/Her]
Nurturing Druid Mated / Alchemist |
|
|
Peranthia is the mother of the clan, she enjoys caring for flora, fauna, as well as dragons. She's very chattery, and finds great joy in conversing for hours on end. She's usually the one sending hatchlings on their way, burdening them with satchels filled to the brim with food and other things she deems necessary. As well as this, Peranthia is also the only dragon in the clan to be able to approach Miraak without being sneered at or threatened, and she's spent countless hours trying to make him look presentable. For once, Miraak doesn't seem to mind. She uses her potent potions and remedies to give new and eternal life to plants, weaving them into new, gorgeous pieces of apparel and decorations for her home. She also decorates herself the same way, by literally growing moss on her scales, and letting critters live on her if they so please. Some believe her body holds an entire ecosystem. She is yet to deny it. | space text |
Peranthia found her way to the clan when it was as barren and basic as her scales first were. Her original clan and family quickly abandoned her, blaming it on her fragile joints and tame coloring. Left to her own devices, she sought comfort in other creatures, birds, bugs and things of the like were what she surrounded herself with. This, and her desire to treat others with more respect than she what was bestowed upon her, is likely why she tries very hard to treat everyone as equals. It was not until she was an adult that she dared leave her home, having surrounded herself with her own kind of comforting family.
Cutting herself off from her clan completely, she wandered, spending years traversing the land in search of a better, simpler life. But the going was tough, and her feeble body often shut down completely, rendering her unable to move for days upon days. During this time, all she could do was rest, which embarrassed her at first, until she realized the effects it had. As she didn't mind grime or dirt, she never bothered cleaning off after days spent laying around, and after a while, moss started growing on her. Overjoyed to finally be able to decorate her previously dull scales, she let it grow, and allowed creatures to make it their home. As it rubbed off, she realized it had also affected her scales and wings themselves, giving them a rippling look, as if some of the color had worn off with it. The change gave her new strength to go on, as well as a huge advantage during her travels; expertly executed camouflage. Now, she no longer had to search far and wide for a hiding spot, she could rest pretty much everywhere. After many years and layers of moss, she eventually found it, signs of a nearby, bustling clan. Or at least, it seemed like it had been at one point. Most of the homes were abandoned and broken, the square only held a few dragons, and the inhabitants seemed distant, exhausted. She made her way through the area, asking around as to why the place was in such a sad state. She soon discovered the reason; they were leaderless, in a way. Peranthia had arrived shortly after Shambles snapped, and the entire clan was in disarray. She learned that most of the original members had left, and that the few who remained were trying their hardest to rebuild, very slowly and clumsily. She immediately went to work, adopting the entire clan and their well-being as her charge, becoming a leader of sorts. She played an important part in directing and planning everything. After months of work, she could finally see the results of her dedicated work, and she could finally settle down for good. Moving into one of the enormous, hollow trees somebody had previously occupied, she started working on what she did best; shamanistic work. She brewed potions and poisons, being a great resource to healers and warriors alike. All this while still being dedicated to the social and administrative work she had volunteered to do that day she joined the group. Now, she passes on her knowledge to the youngsters, caring for them as if she was their mother, she refuses to let anyone feel the way she did as a young dragon. Azmari, especially, has caught her eye. He has become both her son and apprentice, constantly surprised by his promising powers. |
