Biography
Luky
"Kindness is free to give but priceless to receive"
RELATIONS Alma She and Lucky have been close friends since they were hatchlings. Wander They met through Alma and quickly became good friends. |
In the wilds, Luky hatched alone. This was not intended. Most dragons have memories from within the egg, or at least pieces of them, and Luky was no different; she remembered hearing voices from outside her shell, from dragons she assumed were her parents, or maybe even her clan. Nevertheless, when Luky finally cracked her way out of her shell, all she saw around her were splintered pieces of other eggshells and the strewn remains of a nest. "Late-hatcher," was what the centaurs who found her said. She didn't understand what it meant, then. She was cold and alone, frightened and hungry, and the herd offered her comfort, taking her into the herd and raising her as they would one of their own. As she grew, she wondered what had become of the dragons who were her family less and less - late-hatcher, she learned, only meant a hatchling that emerged from their shell much later than the rest of the clutch, where the egg was often presumed dead and abandoned. With that knowledge, Luky found no feelings of resentment for being left behind. After all, how were they to know? And the centaurs weren't alone - while they were one of the herds who were more peaceful toward dragonkind in general, they also traded with other Beastclans. Luky came to understand the ways of many different peoples as she grew. From the centaurs, she learned to read things other than words - from trail-signs in fallen leaves to portents in the stars. From the fauns, she learned to dance beneath the bright shine of the moons and weave a melody with panpipes. From all of them she learned magic, but there was one thing none of them could teach - flight. This she learned from a faithful Mith companion, a Geartoggle Smith, who she'd befriended in the centaur herd. Lastly, but perhaps most importantly, from the deceptive Serthis she learned thateven looks can be deceiving, and someone who appears frightening might be your only way home. Luky learned the ways of the Beastclans better than most other dragons alive. She could speak their languages, she knew their magics, and she danced in their rituals. Luky's childhood gave her a unique perspective on the varied persons and creatures living on the great world of Sonrieth, both friendly and dangerous, and developed a deep sense of care for the world around her.
