- it sucks when your ill begotten ideas produce ill begotten results, huh? tesai is pretty bitter about all those years ago-- he was young and foolish and the thought of having his own clan, his own charge, was very alluring. maybe he took it a step too far by making the terms of the fight, "if i lose, i'll serve you for life!", but, c'mon, young and foolish!
- lost the fight, now serves milagrosi for life. he's mostly her guard, but he also helps her get around when needed, and handles more day-to-day clan leader tasks
- trains all who want it in the ways of combat, which he now has much more experience in since becoming milagrosi's personal guard
- doesn't actually hate milagrosi-- he just hates that she is unrelenting in her punishments and unwilling to listen to a change of the terms of service.
- tried to mercy kill ataine as a hatchling but we don't talk about that
- he and ecord have secret trysts that he doesn't tell milagrosi about-- he's not sure why he hasn't told her, it's not like she'd be upset-- their relationship is open and fluid
