Biography

He wakes up buried, and after struggling to the surface he finds that he remembers nothing, he feels like the land around him is familiar but he can’t remember if he's even been in this land before. In his confusion he leaves, trying to run away from the the nagging feeling that he's forgetting ... well, everything. It doesn't take him long to find stumble upon a new land, it was strange and smelled of death. Everything he thought he knew was wrong? He discovers that the language he learned as a child (when was that again?) seemed to be forgotten. Trying to speak hurt, and whatever came out sounded like growling, his voice low and harsh. The other dragon grew aggressive at this, lashing out with their claws, ripping into his scales. He looks down half expecting to see blood (where had he learned that others bled?) pouring from his side but he found ...nothing, his flesh looked dull and dry. The other dragon stepped back in fear but he found a strange comfort, a part of him knew about this, it knew that they couldn't hurt him like he could hurt them. "What are you?" his opponent's, no his prey's voice (why had that word been the one called to mind?) was barely above a whisper, barely above the shouts of more dragons above, although he couldn't understand what they were yelling. The dragon had backed away, pressing themselves against the furthest wall, and were staring at him with horror-filled eyes (why was their expression so familiar?) He couldn't answer, even if he knew how he couldn't explain it in their tongue, so he settled on his name (was it even his name?) "Cicada" he answers softly,(what else could he say but who, no, what he was?) before lunging at his opponent and staining the earth red with his enemy's blood. The dragons above roared their approval, he spreads his wings ready to move on and find more blood but something huge crashes into him. He wakes up trapped, after struggling to his feet he growls. This was just another cage, and one much easier to escape.
