Clan Nebula consists of many different tales and stories, all woven into a thick carpet of camaraderie and mutual acceptance - some of them lighthearted and soft like silk, and some wrapped into the barbed yarn of bitterness. Joker's story could certainly be seen as one of the latter kind, but the Spiral dragon has never once uttered a word of complaint, and wouldn't have it any other way. Right before the time of his birth, his parents, two travellers under the name of the Windsinger, took great care to protect their nest from the growing influence of the Wandering Contagion that was creeping ever southward. Even though they tireless watched over their small clutch, a plague-ridden insect got into their nesting grounds and managed to break the tender shell of one of the eggs. As a result of this virulent attack, the young hatchling emerging from the egg was much weaker than his siblings, and quickly realized that he was nearly unable to stand on his spindly, far too fragile legs - a bitter fate for the young, passionate Joker, who soon wanted nothing more than to leave his home on the Windswept Plateau to find his own adventures, which ultimately came his way as he joined Clan Nebula. In spite of his physical frailty, Joker turned out to be an incredible aerial artist, unwilling to give in to the circumstances of his obstacles. He is known to be dead-serious in regards to his health, but tends to act as a loudmouth with basically anything else, more than ready to laugh directly into the face of danger before evading any injuries with a perfectly-aimed flight manoeuvre. According to his clan mates, he has not even once touched the ground since he joined the Arcana guild of the Crystal Palace, and resides in the rusty, splintered remains of one of the metal bodies littering the halls. He takes responsibility in teaching the young fledglings the secrets of safe flight, and is often found surrounded by young dragons, listening to his advice. Still, Joker only grudgingly accepted the things he cannot do, and found a net of safety to fall back on whenever he felt the need. The Guardian EDI has found her charge in him and rarely leaves his side; Additionally, the Defense Squad of the Palace, led by Shepard and Kaidan, is usually seen in his vicinity as well. |
