»[Lore: Dreamtouched Walkers]«
While trying to contact the soul of a loved one from beyond, Eidolon accidentally summoned Kanaiba, a devourer of dreams. Upon contact, Kanaiba found himself stranded with a now physical body, leaving Eidolon with the responsibilty of teaching him how to live. Overtime, they developed an unusual friendship that turned into romance.
In Eidolon's presence, Kanaiba is calm and no longer feels like the restless soul he once was. He has found a new way to live, with her help.
The dreamtouched walkers are the offspring of Eidolon, a dreamwalker, and Kanaiba, a living nightmare. They are capable of peering into dreams and nightmares. Their presence draws the imagination away, causing people to forget them upon waking up. Like their father, they only have a partial physical presence and require a companion (AKA host) to keep them grounded. They vanish to the other side without one.
It isn't a bad thing to become a walker's companion. They provide protection from most evil magic and companionship in return. The downside is that, when you sleep, you no longer dream...or have nightmares, for that matter. For those who suffer chronic nightmares, this may be seen more as a blessing.
When left to their own devices and in the presence of overwhelming negative emotions, the dreamtouched walkers become aggressive and dangerous. Their eerie wails can be heard for miles away.
