[ Lore ] Lucien is a demon. However, he hasn't actually been a demon in a long, long time. In a school full of magic, there has to be some magical mistakes, and Lucien is one of them. There's one-in-a-million chance that the failed summoning of a demon results in something sort of amusing rather than dangerous; as some poor student of magic decades ago found out. No one remembers what the administration was thinking at the time, or perhaps the student trying to hide their mistake, but Lucien was found years later tucked into an abandoned cupboard in a lab. Flux was understandably not happy when the lab she was clearing out for the reexpansion of the university contained a strange surprise. Lucien still introduces himself as a demon, but somewhere along the line the evil nature that defines a demon. He is now much more of a harmless but mischievous immortal spirit that appears when you least expect it. He enjoys surprising people and lending (usually useless) advice to professors and students alike. He interacts most closely with the conjuration school, as they are intrigued by his transition from truly evil to mildly good. They speculate on his tendency to disappear for multiple days after his actions hurt someone, and his unpredictable powers that seem to strengthen when helping someone.

[ Notes ] • Despite not being a "Demon" exactly, Lucien still has a few beneficial powers from being a "Not-Demon". These include very good night vision, being able to float and disappear at will, and for some reason, a very accurate sense for when the kettle is about to boil over. • Is intrigued by Roulade and often follows him around, pestering him about his work. • He makes up for being mildly annoying by dropping hard-to-find components for Roulade's little spellworks and automatons into his letterbox as "anonymous" gifts. He refuses to reveal his sources, though he swears up and down that he is not a thief. | ................. |
