Biography
Dr.Isaac is truly an exceptionally powerful medical sorcerer, with thorough general medical education, but specialising in the treatment of magical ailments. In many respects, he is an exorcist. He dislikes fighting, but can shock foes with his ferocity if need be, especially if his partner Tafa is in danger.
Tafa and Isaac run a practice together, but receive few patients. It's due to Isaac's bad reputation. He has a disconcerting personality, notorious for his weirdness and unnerving enthusiasm, his extensive collection of scientific dead pickled specimens and general personality that screams "crazy and not to be trusted". It's only thanks to Tafa's calm and reliability that they get any patients at all, even if the truth is that Isaac is one of the best doctors in the world.
He doesn't like to think about this, as it makes him hopelessly depressed, instead opting to enjoy his time with Tafa and his few other friends, continue learning and helping people where he can (and enjoying the magic and science along the way).
Oolith's family, including Oolith, a brother and parents, were afflicted with a terrible curse after digging up a cursed artefact. The curse ate away at their souls fast, and proved almost untreatable my most doctors. As a last resort, Dr.Isaac and Tafa were called in to try and cure them. After a long battle with the curse, Isaac managed to save Oolith, but for their family, it was too late.
Isaac was very, very sympathetic with the now alone child, but knew that he couldn't take them in. If Oolith grew up with him, they'd surely inherit his bad reputation, so instead, he placed them in an orphanage, and an important family adopted them.
