In that quite time when night is coming to an end and the new day is about to break, everything is still, the nocturnal creatures have gone about their business and returned to their dens, the birds have yet to rise and a lone figure stands still on the out skirts of a meadow, his breath frosting ever so slightly in the chill of the air while his eyes search the heavens, waiting patiently for what he had foreseen to come.

The dew has already settled on the grass and all was quiet, then across the skies hurtles a blazing comet, bits breaking off as it hurtles into the oblivion of space, pieces of this rare rock touching down on his planet, just as he had foreseen, he felt the tremors as the planet absorbed the impact of the rocks and in his heart he knew, this one was just a warning.

As dawn breaks and a new day emerges, he stretches, unfurls his wings and takes off into the sky, intent on being the first to find the pieces of space rock before anyone else does, from them he will be able to tell if his dreams will come to pass.

His wings beat furiously as he races against time, who knows how many others saw the meteor fly by or the pieces that broke off, something urged him on faster, "I must find one of these pieces first" he thinks to himself. His antenna quivers slightly and he changes course, having sensed the change in the atmosphere he had been waiting for, his heart picking up pace as he catches an air current and begins to descend from his altitude.
