botanist
 introverted, slightly territorial about his plants. like campfire syndrome, but for plants in his care.  friendly with chioni. ambivalent towards trista. fond of heliodor. Valoran was born under the eye of the Gladekeeper, though his parents hailed from the Tangled Wood. from a young age he was interested in plants: under what conditions they flourished, the interplay between different species sharing soil, and how to care for them to bring them to their fullest potential under sub-optimal circumstances. an acomplished naturalist at a young age, able to cultivate even the most sun-loving plants in his shadowed home, he soon found himself wishing for greater challenges. it was for this reason that he left his home: in search of another difficult climate to attempt to cultivate his gardens in. he wasn't sure before if he'd found that in this clan, but after the move to the Cloudsong, he's definitely happy. -might change to a traveller/friend -a friend of chioni's; they went to a seminar of his on growing plants in locations far outside their native environment during their healer training in hopes of learning to grow some useful herbs not native to wind, and ended up getting lunch together afterwards when chioni's short question turned into an engaging and delightful discussion. they keep in contact, and he visits quite often -the kudzu are his fault. god damn it, you just made an invasive species even more invasive
