The faint smell of smoke hits my nostrils suddenly. Its happened again.
Death is part of the cycle of the living, a cruel but effective way to use every part of the creature. The flesh can be used for sustenance, the bones for fertilizer, and the corpse a paradise for millions of microscopic organisms. But through this cycle, the soul has no place to go. I must guide them to their home, for they are lost without their senses.

This job has fallen to me naturally, for I too have been lost without a way before. They will continue to a place where they are welcomed and loved once again. That brings me joy.

If only I could have had the same fate.
