DURGA

Named after the Hindu goddess with the same name. Durga protects mankind from evil and misery by destroying evil forces such as selfishness, jealousy, prejudice, hatred, anger, and ego.

On September 16, 2018, Durga was the first Streambringer dragon registered with the subspecies.

ABOUT

Deep in the wilds, close to the running brooks, streams, and rivers that swarm with fireflies, a species of dragons dwell. There, in the damp shadows, the Forest and River Dragons (FaR) learn how to channel the special powers of the water within. Running water is healing, rejuvenating, and cleansing. Since these dragons are born into it, they’re among the luckiest of all kinds.

They are known to store river water in their bellies, beginning with the water from the river they were born in. As they grow older, they may store more and more of it, from different locales. No one knows if it’s the water or the special dragon, but the water within them has magical healing and luck properties.

Having one of these dragons in your clan is said to foretell prosperity — for as long as the rivers course through the Viridian Labyrinth.

STREAMBRINGER

The ritual guides of the FaR, a Streambringer is a very rare dragon. Catching a glimpse of one is said to offer seven years of good luck. The water inside their body is heated to a roiling steam, and thus purified. Then, it can be used in many different ceremonies, as it is believed to be consecrated by the Gladekeeper herself. Streambringers’ essence can banish ghosts and demons. Once an adult, the dragon spends many years training in spiritual ceremonies. The hatching of a Streambringer is often cause for many days of celebration.
