Kneliñor Cerrdiron (Knel)
Mental description: Knel is a very… unstable character. While he is undeniably cheery, even childish, he is undeniably dangerous. If you (try to) cross him, he’ll be amiably telling you how lovely your ear bones will look in his collection before you even realize he’s disabled your ability to move. However, provided the price is right and you don’t try to cross him (and he has no ulterior motives to harm you), he is quite a person to work with, despite his slightly unhinged way of speaking and moving. His nearly permanent grin is unnerving in the way it lights childishly into his too-wide eyes, and his light giggle doesn’t help matters. His movements are seemingly imprecise, but almost dance-like in their smoothness, and undeniably feminine; careless but confident.
Knel is unbothered by suffering and pain as a general rule, be it his or anyone else’s. He doesn’t really have any qualms about causing it, and has a reputation for doing jobs that no other mage will. He’s incredibly perceptive, and has a sly way of revealing things best left unrevealed, if those he’s talking with are perceptive enough to catch on.
Magic: As a ghoul, Knel’s magical abilities are channeled through the flesh, blood, and bone of once-living beings. As ruthless as he is, Knel has quite the collection of these things- though he tends to prefer bones because they are much less messy after being cleaned up, he finds blood is a much stronger conduit and will use it for particularly tricky or powerful spells. He finds the fleshy bits too messy to deal with, but he does keep the flesh of particularly powerful ‘donors’, in case it is needed. The more powerful the creature’s remains used, the more purely it can conduit a ghoul’s power. This term ‘power’ is a very subjective thing, and every ghoul has slightly differing views on what makes a powerful being. Magically, politically, mentally, physically- sometimes different power is useful for different spells. It’s all a very tricky, finicky process, and each ghoul devises their own system for deciding what to use and when.
