Powerful : Defiant : Judgmental : Dutiful

From birth, all Zyra had ever known was hardship.

As just a hatchling only a week out of the egg, she was stolen from her birth lands by a small gang of harpies, part of a clan whose purpose was to weaken the draconic forces. She was delivered to a herd of defected centaurs, who had taken up Residence within the Viridian Labyrinth. What was to become of her future was uncertain, whether she would become a forced laborer, or whether she would become merely a trophy. But the young dragoness had other plans.

Upon arrival, the centaurs took her from the harpies and she was pushed into a small, wooden hut for temporary holding, with guards posted at the door. But Zyra was no mere pet to be contained, and her draconic pride and sheer willfulness refused to to allow this disrespect to pass. Bad enough she had been kidnapped and taken to this place! She would not just sit by!

Night fell, and she heard the camp grow silent. Determination set in her vivid lightning eyes, she began to quickly claw and chew her way through the back of the hut, working as silently as she could while maintaining a steady pace despite the agitation and wounds the wood gave her mouth and paws. Hours passed of painful work. As the first trickling of light broke over the horizon, she had made a hole big enough for her to escape through.

She shoved herself through the broken and splintered wood and made a wild dash away despite the injuries, flapping her young wings and sprinting with great haste, fleeing towards the treacherous lands of the Shrieking Wilds with the centaur guards shouting and in hot pursuit. Once she forced herself into the thick brush the centaurs had neither the bravery nor the foolhardiness to attempt to follow her there, so they broke off pursuit.

Once within the Wilds, she encountered Odin, who was as lost as she was within the dangerous lands, though he had been born there. Their meeting was one of pure chance, though they would both regard it as a good sign later. As Zyra ventured deeper into the Wilds to make sure there was no chance of her being followed, she realised she would have no way of finding an escape route if she continued as she had been. As she pondered, she ran into Odin, quite literally. Zyra was instantly relieved to have company in such a treacherous environment. Odin, more curious than relieved, agreed to accompany this young dragoness. Both decided that it would be better if they didn’t separate, as both dragons were still young, and the wariness of being alone in this place was enough to make them grateful for any company, and together, they resolved to make their way out of the Wilds.

It took them months to escape the wilds, and they encountered hostile creature after hostile creature- at first. Odin proved himself to be incredibly adept at nature magic despite his age, and positively ruthless. Aggressive creatures that sought to attack or kill the two were either bound, strangled, contorted, or sometimes even torn to pieces by powerful roots and vines that the hatchling controlled with a cold expression. Zyra watched on, eyes wide at the power he showed and the merciless to those who sought to hurt them. And now she understood how he had survived in this world. His reputation seemed to spread through survivors who escaped, and soon they were left largely alone except for a few beasts that were quickly dispatched. Though the first times had shocked her, she became desensitized to the violence, and she became hardhearted and fierce for the sake of survival. Survival required doing what you had to do. There was no place for mercy to those who wanted to take it away.

Zyra is an elitist; after going what she went through, she looks down on those who make a big deal out of something that she feels is lesser to her experience. She missed out on the "pain is relative" memo. However, she is an amazing dragon to have on your side in a survival ordeal. She might have her scorn for "lessers", but she is strong. Very, very strong. She will get done what needs to be done.
