Heir of the Watery Depths
Co-heir of the Wavedancers
Loyal mate to Shadow
Warrior of the Wavedancers

Quiet
Passionate
Dedicated
Born in the second of three clutches laid by the founders of the lair, Wavedancer and Skywing, Shyrza was the only one of her nest not to join the Tidelord. The eldest of her three siblings, she was more than eager to help her mother with the chores around the lair, though never seriously thought about strengthening herself to become a better fighter or even a better dragon.

When her parents left to join the Tidelord not too long after their last clutch, a single egg, had hatched, it left a vacuum in the lair. Knowing, as did her her older brother Permafrost, that something had to be done, they enlisted the aid of Shadow, an older Guardian who had hatched from an egg Wavedancer had found while scavenging in the Tsunami Flats. Together the three of them set about shaping the lair to better honor the memory, and mission, of their mother. To allow any dragon to enter so long as they meant no harm, and to allow them complete freedom in what they did and how long they stayed. To that end they approached the other, older dragons and formed the Council of the Wise.

Though she, like most Tundras, prefers to laze around, when it comes to getting a job done, she will. Shyrza will not stop until whatever needs to be done is done. That includes going against the Council's vote if she thinks is will tarnish what her mother started. However, unlike Permafrost, she will not go to the extreme in disobedience. She knows that the lair needs a strong and upstanding leader, though also a compassionate one. With the introduction of a plague camp on the shores near the exit to their lair, it has put a huge burden on her to maintain peace, as well as freedom, as more and more dragons leave the lair to help those who have found their way to the sick camp. Especially when one of those valiant dragons was none other than Permafrost himself.

Quiet, Shyrza can build quite a temper if she is pushed too far. She has slowly been training to be a better fighter, but her other duties in keeping the lair running has left her with little time to train.

She loves to collect shells and bits of shiny rocks she may find, using them to decorate her lair. Unlike most Water dragons, she does not seem to have any abilities when it comes to scrying, foretelling the future or other similar gifts. Though, whether she has been keeping such abilities hidden has yet to be seen.

"There are times I wish our parents hadn't left," Shyrza said with a sigh as she flopped down on the floor of her room, wings and legs stretched out.

"They felt the call," Permafrost said as he sat, lifting a front leg to inspect it, frowning at the dust.

"I know," Shyrza said, "just like the rest of our siblings . . . just like many, many dragons in this lair. Some of whom passed through from other flights because they felt the call from the Tidelord instead of their own deities."

"Even I miss them," Permafrost said, "but it has to be. I mean, we can't let the Shade overrun this world. We have to help keep it safe, even if it means letting go of the ones we love."

"You're not thinking of joining them, are you?" Shyrza asked as she lifted her head, blinking her rich blue eyes at her older brother.

"Of course not," Permafrost said, ruffling his wings and fur a bit, the dirt forgotten as he looked at his sister, "I have a duty here, to the lair, just as you do."

Shyrza nodded as best as she could before rolling to her feet, shaking the dust and dirt from her shaggy fur. "And I want to help you, help the others, make this clan the strongest clan in all of Sornieth. I want to make sure that nothing can ever threaten it."

"I know we will. And with the others help it can be done," Permafrost said, "so, come on, let's make a few rounds to see what's going on and then grab something to eat. I've been feeling rather fond of Light's Breath."

Shyrza chuckled at that. "You would. Me. I was thinking of some longgrass stalks. Those I could chew on forever."

Permafrost laughed at that before rising, padding over to the entrance to her lair. "Let's not keep a good feast waiting, then."

"Sometimes I don't know about you," Shyrza said, "sometimes I think you hatched on the wrong side of the nest."

"Didn't mother say it was the same side you hatched on in your clutch?"

Shyrza blinked at that. "Oh . . . right . . . "

Permafrost laughed as he headed down the hallway, Shyrza almost on his tail.

Yes, she did miss her parents and most of the dragons who had left to follow the call of the Tidelord, or had moved on to other lairs to do them as much service as they had done here. Yet she also knew there was a good reason they had to leave. In part because the lair was only so big and only so many dragons could find a home here, but also because she knew how important it was to keep the planet safe from the Shade. She knew it was an honor to serve their deity and she couldn't help but wonder if one day she might feel that call, too, and leave her older brother as the sole caretaker of their lair.
