Uh-oh, looks like this feisty daddy's girl wandered a little too far from her lair (81974, Stormfly), and now she's off to see the world with her one and only papa! They'd prefer to stay together in their journey and would greatly appreciate it if that was respected. Somewhere along the road while traveling Riptide got separated from her father. She searched for him but ended up alone and afraid in the house of auctions. A kind lair got her out of there and helped her search for her father. She was unable to find him, but they contacted her home lair and she was all set to head back. Unexpectedly, another lair reached out with good news. Her father had been looking for her as well and they could be reunited! She rushed to meet him as quickly as she could and allowed him to fuss over her. Overprotective he may be, but she knew her father cared and hoped she has never separated from him again.

Two years of being in her home clan were enough to make her want to tear her scales off. She missed the days of meeting dragons and traveling to far away lands. Her mom was gone, grandpa too. All she had for a family was her papa, many of her friends had left the lair in her absence.
So she finally stopped moping about lost opportunities and told her dad, "I want to travel again, can we?"

He couldn't say no to her, she was all he had left. So with a smile and a sigh he conceded and Riptide jumped for joy, nearly knocking her father off his feet and racing to gather some food.
She couldn't wait!

Named after Red Tide; which is a certain type of algae bloom that appears to turn the water red; but Rip Tide sounded better as a name. And since Red Tide kills plenty of Manatees along the coast each year, 'RIP'tide fits pretty well.

Now all she needs is a Mammertee familiar...
