Mal is a murderhobo. Or was. After joining up with Wolf, he's managed to temper her a little bit. She's still one of the most aggressive, hostile, and deadly of the clan.

Mal prowled about the edges of her homeland, eyeing the change from sickness and death to green plant life. Murder was in her blood. But the pulsating sickness bred strong foes, and constant dangers, and sometimes…she just wanted a little peace. But death was her life. Dragons from other lands came to live in the dying wasteland that was her home, and although she wasn't particularly certain why, even these foreigners, not born into death as she, seemed more at home, more fit to live in this writhing sickness. She hated it. She jumped into the sky, a predator on the move, and scanned the line where life and death intertwined. After a while, a bat flew by, apparently unaware of the danger. She was quick to take advantage of its stupidity, and snapped it up. It tasted of the same plague that tainted everything. She swallowed the whole thing anyway. Once again, she watched the ground. In the grass beyond the borders, a bird landed. The Mirror licked her lips, and circled closer. A brilliant blue that served it well in the sky, was easy to spot in the green grass. It wouldn't have lasted moments against the red soil of her homeland. She dove and snatched the bird up easily, devouring it in the air. If she kept it, it could be stolen. That was life out in the plague lands. The meat was delicious, far better than anything that lived closer to the line of death. She scanned the green grasses and saw nothing else. Few creatures from the softer lands came this close. Those who did quickly fell, just as the bird had fallen to her claws. Again Mal wondered about this difference in hostility. She'd never left sight of the plague-ridden lands she called home. It had honed her claws sharp and her reflexes quick. But even so, she was an outcast from the pack, and she hunted alone. The green invited her, called to her. The winds from this place always carried with them the scents of pleasantness, and though she would never admit it, home. It drew her to the sky, to dance in the current. Mal knew in her heart that the winds were better deeper in. But still, loyalty to a sick land had held her still. But that was then. Now, she was hungry. The food in this area was dead. Driven further and further away from the mother of death, now the Mirror danced on the whispers of a breeze. On the line between life and death, it was time to make a choice.

Mal laughed with cruel delight as she plucked a Corven away from its group, immediately zooming across the ground to a safe distance. The beastclan struggled in her grip, managing to get a wing free and flap wildly. The mirror landed in cluster of bamboo and regarded it with bared teeth. It was surprisingly strong for being a berry gatherer. She went to bite down anyways, but stopped at the sound of wingbeats. There was a large group of heat signatures headed her way, and the Mirror had a good idea of what they were. She growled, and quickly devoured her meal. She wasn't about to lose prey just because its comrade's were armed. The creatures came closer, and she lowered herself in the bamboo, a spring ready to pounce. Within moments, the first Raptorik came into view, a curved sword clutched in its talons as it scanned the area. It made eye contact with her, and Mal pounced. The beastclan was dead before it could scream a warning, and then she was bounding away across the landscape. Her hearing told her that the rest of the group was in close pursuit, and they were keeping pace. A bolt of concentrated wind energy hit her leg as she ran, causing her to stumble. She had a good resistance to such things, but it still did damage. They caught up. Mal swore as talons raked her backside. Her recent meal was slowing her down, and she knew it. There was no way she'd be able to fight off the entire pack, there was at least a dozen of them. She kept running, taking quick twists and turns to gain a bit of a lead. A new heat signature showed up on the other side of a hill, large enough to be a dragon, and the mirror changed course toward it. At the crest of the hill, she could see what was a very fluffy dragon. Tundras were the furry ones, if she remembered correctly. She grinned, and planned her trajectory. She'd leap over its head, and hopefully the Raptorik pack would either divide, or focus on the more stationary target. As she hit the ground and leapt, the Tundra raised its wings. She crashed into them, momentum carrying her forward in a tumble before she regained her footing and ran. She didn't look back to see how the other dragon had fared the crash, as it was going to beset by beastclan in moments. But as she bounded away, the sound of wingbeats subsided. And then there was a scream. Mal risked a glance back, and saw that the entirety of the pursuing pack had stopped to attack the Tundra. It managed to lift into the air, but Mal could see that there was no way the dragon was going to escape, not with the surrounding pack and not with the heavy amounts of fur. She groaned. Pack mentality was a curse upon survival. At least they were distracted now. The Mirror turned, and approached the battle.
