Prior to her coronation as the new matriarch, Desdemonia was a soft-spoken and kind-hearted nocturne who was content with her simple and humble life as a caretaker for her clan's children. She adored caring for those whelps. Hailing from the Arcane flight and a loyal follower of the Arcanist, her love and devotion to her clan is stronger than any metal. This is evident in her clan's decision to make her the new matriarch, for even though she's hardly a leader, her heart is as vast and rich as the spirit that dwells within every natural-born Arcane dragon. Even before her coronation, Desdemonia took on the role of a mother figure to many, if not all of her fellow clanmates. The entirety of the Starbound Clan adores her caring and loving nature.

B I O G R A P H Y

The tides have changed within the Starbound Clan. Alongside the sudden and mysterious disappearance of the previous matriarch and founder, Glaide, several other dragons have decided to take their leave without explanation, including the heir and heiress. Without a dragon from the royal bloodline to take her place, Glaide's absence has caused chaos and confusion within the clan. Fortunately, the members came together under the strict guidance they have all lived by for so long and elected a new matriarch to take the throne. Desdemonia was the chosen candidate and, after proving herself by undergoing several grueling tasks and tests to ensure that she was pure of mind and heart, she was officially coronated as the new queen of the Starbound Clan.

While Desdemonia's coronation has allowed the clan to settle down for the time being, the mass departure of their fellow clanmates has left the remaining dragons uneasy. Without even so much as a goodbye from any of them, the entire clan has been left in the dark as to why the others left, leaving them to believe some sinister fate was upon them. With this worrisome notion in mind, they look to Desdemonia for guidance and protection, something she has yet to grow used to. However, she will need to accept her new role in its entirety soon, for she is beginning to undergo the changes that becoming the new matriarch entails. She is unsure if she is ready to face these changes, but with the clan's trust upon her shoulders, she has no other choice.

One such change is her newfound abilities as an oracle. Now that the Arcanist, the beloved deity of their clan's flight, has recognized her position as the head of her clan and given her his blessing, Desdemonia finds that she can now see into the future as the former matriarch once could. This power is so strange and intense that she sometimes blacks out after a vision and seldom can remember what the vision entailed, but soon enough she will master this ability like her predecessor and become the matriarch her clan deserves. If not, she fears she may lead them down a path of doom and despair whether she wants to or not. This, as much as she fears to admit it, is now her responsibility.

While she's well-aware of the fact that being a "mother figure" is hardly the same as leading an entire clan, Desdemonia is determined to maintain the peace and harmony by which she and her fellow clanmates have lived through for many generations. For some inexplicable reason, Fate has chosen her to be the beacon of hope for the Starbound Clan, a force that no dragon can defy no matter how hard they try. If Fate has decided that Desdemonia is the best candidate to lead her clan, then so be it. Neither she nor anyone else has the power to change Fate.

In the meantime, Desdemonia will have to adjust herself to the many duties and requirements that come along with her new title. She has been put under a lot of stress very quickly and her fellow clanmates are aware of that, but in order to return to their normal lives and get to the bottom of the sudden exodus of their former clan members, they need to ensure a stable foundation within the ranks that dominate the Starbound Clan. After all, whatever awaits them could very well mean their downfall.
