Ryugazaki

Ryugazaki loves to train, especially swimming. She takes great care to keep her lair organized, and cares deeply about aesthetics. She will correct others when they mess up, and although it might come across as rude to those who don't know her, she means well. Ryugazaki is the youngest member of the border guard, so she spends a lot of her free time on practice. Her competitive spirit is strong.

She was born in a Light clan, where she grew up with her father. She never knew her mother, as she had been sickly and passed away after laying Ryuzaki's egg. Having no siblings to play with, she ended up playing with water hatchlings from a nearby clan. Swimming became her favorite pastime. At night she would often dream of living in the waves, and as she grew older it became her goal to move where the sea was all around her.

One day, an elderly dragon stopped by Ryuzaki's clan to buy light flight specialties; fine silks, moth sweets, carved souvenirs. The older one talked freely with the vendors, and among other smalltalk and gossip announced that there was a free position in the border guard of Crystal Springs, the healer's cove on the magic reef. When Ryuzaki's father heard the news, he brought them to his beloved daughter with a smile and a full travelsack. He knew the Crystal Springs would teach her well.

And, if this let him more easily find himself a ladylove, that would be a neat bonus now wouldn't it? He decided to keep that part of his thoughts silent as he kissed his daughter goodbye.
