Deep within the Viridian Labyrinth lies a coffin. A coffin which almost all the dragons of Sornieth have forgotten. It has all but been passed down through the generations as myth and folklore.

Guarding the coffin are the Viridian Guards. These guards patrol day and night, stopping anyone who gets too close. If a dragon was there to intentionally get closer, perhaps to see what's inside, then they would be met with a deadly force.

The Viridian Guards are all trained at a young age to become fierce opponents. They are pushed beyond their limits in both offensive training and endurance and if they can't complete their training then they are kicked from the land and banished from the Viridian Labyrinth.

Most Guards never venture out of the Labyrinth as they dedicate their lives to guarding the tomb. Many continue to patrol well into their old age and usually up until their last breath. The Guards that do venture from the land only do so for short periods of time.

One night, as clouds covered the sky and droplets of rain fell, one such Guard was on duty. He had sworn his life to protecting the coffin from grave robbers and the like. He was young but strong. A master of patience and skilled in trickery this dragon was highly respected among the Guards.

As Sabori made his rounds he passed the coffin only to hear whispers coming from inside. Thinking that someone had gotten through the other Guards he marched over and checked the surrounding area. No sight of anyone - so he opened the stone lid.

Inside was not a body but items. They all varied in size. Some were jars, some were jewellery, and some were gems.

Seeing that the items were untouched he huffed and went to close the lid. However, he stopped when he heard the same whispering once again. It seemed to be coming from some of the items within so he checked them over.

The whispering became stronger as he picked up a pair of cuffs and upon greater inspection a small wisp of black smoke emitted from them.

Just as he was away to place them down to tell his commanding officer the black smoke swirled around his arms and quickly engulfed him. He couldn't drop the cuffs. Instead, they found their way around his wrists and Sabori launched backwards.

Try as he might the cuffs didn't come off.

Silently panicking he covered the coffin and went to find another Guard. However, before he could take two steps he fell unconscious.

As he awoke the next morning he realised he was in a completely different location. Instead of green leaves surrounding the area a dark mist and an even darker sky covered the land.

Despite Sabori being trained to handle the toughest of situations he still panicked. He knew the stories of what was held within the coffin and the devastating effects of what could happen should the entity inside be released.

… But Sabori's vision was quickly turning to black...

Before falling unconscious for the last time a black, grinning figure took his chin in one of its many hands and whispered to him. He suddenly felt chilled as the figure touched him. The creature had no visible eyes but its stare left Sabori uneasy.

"This is the last thing you will ever hear so listen well, mortal."

Sabori struggled to stay away let alone stay standing. He didn't want to succumb to the creature but its smooth voice was difficult to resist.

"I am returning. And you shall be my trusted guard."

Sabori fell onto his side and took one last look at the creature. His eyes changed as the creature, yet again, held his chin.

"And you will bring about the destruction of this world!"

The creature chuckled and Sabori's world went black.
