Wyrm, the Serenity Caller

Wyrm spread his wings, taking off to the skies, listening to the soothing breeze which crossed the rolling hills, the grass swaying, making the most gentle of sounds. Some birds belted out their most beautiful tunes to attract one another. The foxes and deer hung close to where Wyrm was, perfectly calmed with Wyrm around to sing to them, even going so far as to gather around him to listen. He twisted in the sky, wings blotting it the sun as he began to cry out one of the most brilliant pieces he had ever created. The animals all watched in shock at his beautiful voice, while he vocalized to the surrounding sounds. As the wind picked up, it began to howl, and he responded by heightening his pitch to match the deep growl of the wind which whipped past his gentle feathers. With a swirl in the air, and a gentle flap of the wings, Wyrm landed gracefully on a deceased tree, hanging over a pond. He finished while staring into the deep, cold water, sitting down on the branch which he oh so calmly claimed as his own for the last span of darkness which hung over the land, as the sun had been rising. The animals made their way out of the area to continue on with the day, which had slipped away from Wyrm, having been caught up with his performance. A dragon seemed to emerge from the shadowed grove behind the scraggly tree that Wyrm had perched on. The Skydancer caught this dragon’s movements, and turned his head over to look closely. “Who are you?” He asked calmly, holding himself high, his faceted eyes glittering strongly in the morning sun’s golden rays of glory. The dark dragon chuckled darkly, large chunks of their body turned to crystalline masses, which visibly weighed the Imperial down. “Do you have a clan?” The dragon asked, their voice the deepest Wyrm had ever heard. He felt like there should be a feeling of distrust against this dragon, yet as he stared into their eyes, he could feel himself becoming obliged to answer the question. “No. I do not..” He replied, his body feeling heavy. The dragon came over to support Wyrm. “Hang in there... Sorry about that. I can’t control it sometimes.” The dragon smiled softly, staring off into the forested grounds. “My name is Thoth. And thank you for the performance. I’d like to invite you over to my clan. Is that alright?” He asked so kindly, Wyrm still couldn’t refuse. So he nodded in agreement, wondering why he couldn’t shake his head. It was something about Thoth’s eyes. It was magic. It had to be. “Alright. Follow me.” He beckoned, walking into the forest, his tenebrous body dissipating into the dark surroundings. Wyrm followed, hoping that maybe this won’t be dangerous.
