Our clan is full of strange and Unscrupulous characters.
Our leader has the head of a bird, the main warrior is mute, I the medic was a lifelong charlatan and fraud. At least five of our more permanent number are diagnosed sociopaths, our more illustrious scientist is antisocial in every sense of the word. His assistant consistently makes attempts at the lives of those he arbitrarily deems inferior.
In other words; we are to arbiters of morality what a ridgeback is to water.

But if I were ever asked who among our number I would deem least trustworthy, least desirable and most dangerous, despite the large number of objectively awful candidates I would without hesitation point out EOS.

Most days he is strutting through the passageways, wings a-gleam in the dim electric light like living sheets of gold. Pale runes wind about his horns, sides and feet. His eyes shine a warm yellow that seems implausibly cold and mechanical. His face is adorned by a kindly, clever smirk that reeks the more of subterfuge the closer he approaches.
He walks slowly, unthreateningly. His steps are a glide as smooth as the descent of a skydancer.
Somehow, despite the thick golden carapace of armor he never seems to be seen without, he walks with a lightness to his step, closer and closer until his breath mingles with yours in a parody of intimacy. He will speak calmly and rationally, voice low and soft, when, suddenly and viscerally, as you listen to his clever silver tongue weave precious, whimsical half-truths, you will feel as if you’re faced not with an odd but friendly-seeming fellow who has rather silly looking eyes, but with an empty facade that hides a predator.
A predator who’s black, invisible gaze is constantly, emptily, locked upon your pulse.

Sometimes it’s hard to remember that he is as much a dragon as the rest of us.
