Senbonzakura

[Gate Keeper] [Fighter]

Gatekeeper and skilled warrior, Senbonzakura is the last rampart to the lair entrance. Training every now and then with Byakuya, he still feel close to him because of their common skill. He takes his role really seriously and will rarely leave his post if nobody can take his place. Stingy of words, he prefers to stay alone and focussed on his task. Though, he's capable of being irritated really easily. During his free time, he likes to fly around with his familiar, who he shares his colours with.
His favourite season is spring.

Senbonzakura is one of the highest ranked dragon in the Clan. As the gatekeeper, he is asked to keep out intruders, thus, you can find him standing still and firm, under the woodengate at the entrance of the lair. Many visitors or passing dragons thought he was simply an hyper realistic statue, up until they saw his pink eyes looking at them.
Though, this fearless warrior wasn't always that respectable.

Years ago, soon after the creation of the Clan, the Ashfall Waste was plagued with a terrible outlaw . He was known for having looted several clans in the area, and was on his way to loot some more.
The Blazing Ember Clan, despite their small size and the very few valuables they had at that time, were anxious to be the rogue's next victims.

Byakuya, well decided to not let some random petty thief stole from them, camped next to the entrance, ready to welcome the intruder, and by welcome, he meant kicking him out of course.
Several nights passed and there was still no signs of the thief. Byakuya began to think that maybe, it was just some kind of tale, just to entertain.

Careful, he decided to wait several more nights, and good for him, because the rogue was finally there. Byakuya stayed hidden in the shadows, observing the moving silhouette of what seemed to be a Coatl. When he came close to him, he swayed him with his tail, pushing him out of the lair :
« Peasant, did you really think you could loot us ? » he said, angrily.
Struck by surprise, the Coatl quickly jumped back on his feet :
« A guard, my, that is quite unusual, you will pay this with your life. » he said, ready to give it all.
« Bring it, peasant. » replied Byakuya coldly.

The both of them were quite surprised to see that their magic attack was strangely similar : they both invoked cherry blossoms to cut their opponent. Grinning, Byakuya was exulted, finally he could be able to fight to his heart contempt. Senbonzakura was uneasy, he wasn't used to be opposed any resistance for more than three seconds. The Imperial was strong, he was fast and he hit hard. Senbonzakura managed to keep up, with difficulties, but he fought again, he knew his life would end if he let the Imperial win.
The fight kept going on for one hour, then for two hours. Both fighters were exhausted, will it ever end ? That is, until Byakuya saw an opening and finally struck Senbonzakura hard enough to let the Coatl lying at his feet, profusely bleeding, but still living.
« Kill me, I've lost, I don't deserve to live. » he said, in an angered whisper.

« No, I won't. You are a strong warrior, you could be useful here. And if you stay, we could fight against each other once again. »
Defeated, but interested in an opportunity of revenge he accepted. Ironically, he was given the responsibility to protect the Clan from intruders. He was surprised to be rapidly part of the Clan. Each week, he spar with Byakuya, though, still unable to beat him to this day.
