They can’t say what happened.
They don’t know. The Collector’s scavenger stumbled upon a camp, long ago. It had been razed to the ground, and they swore never to describe the shape of the bodies around it. And yet… There they found them. Two tiny eggs, untouched by the violence around them. One Fire, the other Ice, tucked away and half-buried where their caretakers had attempted to protect them. The scavenger snatched them both and took for the skies. The eggs were left in Innochka and Derr’s care. The two hatched within minutes of one another not long after they were brought to their new home. From the Ice, emerged a tiny Mirror whose bare hide was cool to the touch. From the other, a fluffy Tundra who radiated a comfortable warmth. The two quickly found each other, and slept easily at one another’s side. They grew, calling each other Brother, and Sister. Rohais, and Odiz. They cared not for their differences, and loved one another as if from the same clutch. Both siblings grew into fine warriors. Rohais chose to remain as a guardian of the clan’s Caves, while his sister stalked the wilderness for dangers that needed driven back. Rohais is content in his home, though he fears his sister’s adventurous nature. She whispers of finding a way out of the forest, and he warns her of the dangers. He fears that one day she may disappear, like the clan’s founders who once had that very same dream. ┗━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━┛ ┏━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━┓

Rohais is what the residents of the Whispering Forest refer to as a “spirit-touched.” Spirit-touched are dragons (or rarely, other sentients) whose hatching corresponded with a spike in the forest’s energies in the area they hatched in.
In Rohais’ case, he shows signs of being spirit-touched in the following ways: *His eyes are the most noticeable. They’re like burning embers, always ablaze, but cause no harm or even discomfort to him or anyone else. Aside from their appearance, they function as normal eyes—albeit he’s got a nifty built-in lantern because of them. *Warm fur. Not in the normal sense because he’s fluffy, his fur actually feels unnaturally warm to the touch, as if he sat in a sunspot for hours. *Can set himself on fire briefly. This fire can be harmful to others if they touch him, but it extinguishes itself within a few seconds. *Any fire he breathes seems like it’ll burn forever if not put out manually.
