A hooded figure is haunched over in a tower, surrounded by books a plenty, his pupilless eyes scanning over the pages as the sound of the raging sea down below fills the air. It is not unusual for the teifling to be alone, in fact he's used to it, and as his eyes survey the ancient texts he's colelcted over the past few years, he cannot focus upon the contents of them. 'Go to sleep!' A chittering voice cries in his head, the weasels voice loud and clear though his connection with her. Were it not for blueberry, he supposed his body would be in worse condition than it was. He was 18 years old, but his body appeared aged from stress, his lanky figure lacking fat to the point it looked as if his violet skin was streched over sinewy muscles. Dark circles rimmed his pupiless eyes as clawed fingertips skimmed over the page, attempting to make sense of the runes that were dancing around the page. "I can't go to sleep blueberry not tonight. I feel that if I do I'll...." He doesn't finish as a furry head pops out of his hood, the weasel's body lithe and energetic , fangs beared at her companion. His head is filled with her angry mess of messages filling his head as he brings a hand up to massage his temple. Changing disaplines temporarily cuts the connection with blueberry off, and his brain instantly feels rested. He can stay up all night now, with no consequences, so long as he's engaged in light activity. 'What did you just do? Nero! Nero! Please listen to me and get some sleep. Another day awake and you'll surely collapse." The thing about weasels was that they did not understand magic. They also did not comprehend when teiflings were irrational, nor did blueberry realize she was dealing with the most irrational teifling of them all. Huffing, he blows some of his blue locks away from his face as he shook his head, clawed fingertips digging into his hands as he avoided blowing up at his furry companion. 'she hasn't done anything to hurt you, she doesn't deserve your anger' he kept repeating mentally. The words were true, she had done nothing to deserve his ire, unlike many of the people in his life. Shuddering with thoughts he'd rather not dwell on, he shoved his fingers into his pockets, pulling out the crystal necklace he'd had since he was a child; the glowing gem soothing him as he looked it over. |
