A resident of the 'Everlasting Grove' - a place in the middle of a cursed land that is kept in a perpetual spring under the influence of great magic. Mao does not own or control the magic that influences the grove, or so she says, and is very secretive about who actually does. She's rather secretive about many things, including where she came from and who her family are, claiming that she was born out of a single blossom from a cherry tree. Many do not believe her, but it is the odd truth.

Mao ventures from the grove only when she has to, much preferring to stay and keep an eye on Reverdie, the only other dragon that is a permanent resident in the grove. The only other dragons that join them are the elderly and the sick that have no one else who cares, who travel to the Everlasting Grove to make it their final resting place. To Mao this makes the Everlasting Grove a sacred place, that violence should never touch; although she won't hesitate to throw you head first out the door (metaphorically - the Grove has no one door) should you give her any major hassle. She may be a small Fae and be very soft spoken, never raising her voice, but her temper is deadly and her demeanour can be firm.

While she is reserved and will keep to herself, Mao has also proven to be a trustworthy and kind individual who does her best when she feels she can.
