Deckhand
Don't expect affection around here. No one cares about anything but themselves and the skin they've got on their bones. I'm no different so unless you've got something worth my time don't waste your breath.

From the moment she hatched Aden felt superior to many of the hatchlings in her clan. Her parents were ancient dragons and while she knew she had large clawprints to fill, she intended to do just that. The tiny imperial tried to bleed stories of the past from her parents every chance she got but they were often busy and had no time for her. This made little difference though as she was sold to a clan whose intentions for her were very different than what she wanted. They worked differently and while she was allowed to play with other hatchlings she was often reminded of her future each time she boasted her abilities as a fighter or hunter. The clan intended Aden to become mated and a breeder. The fate of her hatchlings would depend on their appeal. The imperial didn't like this reminder and she would argue with the adults but they would chuckle and walk away. Over time, she was able to develop a bond with a nocturne and a wildclaw. While young, the three would cause as much chaos as they could get away with from pranking adults to slipping out of the clan's lair. This didn't last long though and soon they were separated to begin their journeys into adulthood. Aden was forced to learn how to care for hatchlings and read their personalities so she could better decide their fates when her own hatched. When her boredom and retaliation reached its peak during her late juvenile stage the imperial snapped on her teacher. Her constant prodding about wanting to do something else turned into a hostile argument but before her fiery temper nearly made her attack her teacher she was escorted away. Left brooding and without food for three days, the imperial paced the small makeshift prison. It was shortly decided that once she was freed she would leave but before she had that chance, her former friends, the wildclaw, Angel, and the nocturne Latorius broke her out of her prison. Their actions were enough to get them punished but she offered the chance at freedom that they were willing to get behind and together, the trio escaped the clan. Left without purpose, they wandered to the auction house and it was Latorius that suggested their next move. They hired themselves aboard the Crowned Thresher and while both Latorius and Angel adapted quickly, Aden's background and lack of exercise meant she struggled to adapt to the heavy workload. Eventually, they learned though and did more than adapt. Aden took to piracy quicker than her friends when it came to pillaging. She followed a code she developed and reveled in harassing and attacking others for her own rewards. When Latorius hesitated skewering a dragon and nearly cost him his life Aden was there to save him. The superiority that she had felt gifted with as a hatchling followed her into piracy as she became notably feared for her ferocity. She carried herself like royalty even while she was fighting and offered to spare dragons if they gave up what they were wearing. |
