Atum is an Egyptian primal god from Heliopolis. Depending on the sources he sometimes is a creator god, god of the heavens and god of the sun. He is depicted as a man with the double crown or bow and arrow, sometimes as well as serpent, mongoose, ovis, bull, lion, ape or scarab.

Atum is said to having created himself, sitting at mound Benben. First he created the mortal world and the underworld. Atum was the first Egyptian god, being surrounded by darkness and endless primordial waters. Because of his loneless he created two gods: Schu, god of the air, and Tefnut, goddess of moisture. But his children, curious about the primeval waters, went to explore these waters and disappeared in darkness. So he sent the Eye of Ra, a sun goddess, to find his children. After their return Atum shed tears of joy, creating the first human beings.
Atum is the first king of the Egyptian gods and connected to the human pharao, lifting his soul from the pyramid to the starry heavens. He unified upper and lower Egypt for the humankind and tries to protect his created land. He is able to dispel tempest and is a dangerous warrior if another tribe or god dares to attack Egypt.
