S U M M A R Y
Often referred to as Father Winter to the younger members of his clan, Dirge was the first of the three founding dragons of the Frozen Hearth Clan to originally settle on the Snowsquall Tundra. He does not know his origins, as his egg seemed to have been abandoned before his birth. His earliest memories are that of a clan of wandering Guardians he found refuge with during his formative years. Among them was Slipstream, a Guardian he would come to call his brother. Dirge's egg was found by Slipstream and thus Dirge became his charge, who has dedicated his life to watching out for him. When the time came for Dirge to leave his birthclan behind, Slipstream accompanied him. Though born Tundra, Dirge also aspired to take on the Guardian's culture of dedicating his life to a charge. On their first night on the Tundra, after digging out a den for himself and his brother, Dirge found another Tundra wandering the cold, injured and in need of help. He offered her refuge for the night. This dragon, Illumi, would eventually become his life-mate and the clan's matriarch. As he nursed her back to health, Dirge realized his charge was to offer aid and a home to those who lost their way in the snow, like his family's did to him so long ago. thus, the Clan of the Frozen Hearth was founded.
