A young king trying to unite the land while knowing it shall not last.He thought highly of his brother until his tragic end at Baima. After the Paradox Wars,Zhao wouldn't trust anyone to do anything except for his familiar/harpy hybrid, Kaju, his wife, Yuanji, and his sworn brothers. He started to trust more people after Xun Yu joined him and now leads his kingdom into a new era with his wife, his brothers and anyone willing to strive for a brighter future.


He has conflicts with Shuu Iwamine, a despicable scientist who wants to test on anything he sees fit. To his luck a certain test subject of his is somewhat on his side. Zhao feels remorse for those who were subjected to Shuu's torture and wishes for all of them to revolt and kill the Pearlcatcher as karmic justice.

Zhao is one to use anyone with talent regardless of background, so much so he would recruit the Ghost of Sekigahara, Mitsunari Ishida and an Ex-Cultist Harumi Tomoe to his ranks and gave them hospitality despite the rather crass and rude responses from both. Zhao personally treasure strategists and archivists but realizes he needs more actual warriors and forms an alliance with Hifilhiem to borrow thier officers and Zhao treats them with as much tender love and care as his own officers.
