The Clan of Dancing Shadows was in quite an uproar today. The entire lair was covered in glitter and the smell of fish overpowered any other scent in the vicinity. As the dragons looked on to see what they had received, an obsidian colored Fae stalked over to a tiger-stripped Wildclaw, her lemon crests and wings fluttering madly. The stone-colored Wildclaw stood stock-still, already expecting her leader to give her a sound scolding.
"Phoebe!" the Fae called out to her, fluttering to her so that they were at eye-level with each other. The Wildclaw was a lot bigger than Vita, but the Fae didn't seem to be daunted by this in the slightest. "Explain this to me!"
"Uh... we got bombed?" Phoebe answered, failing to suppress the smile that was forming in her mouth.
"I can see that," Vita said dryly. "What I meant is, explain to me why you didn't give us any warning at all? You were supposed to be the guard, were you not?"
"Well, yeah, but, uh, w-well, I-I just- you know," the Wildclaw stammered, at a loss for words. Partly because of the situation at hand, and partly because it was so hilarious to see Vita, who was normally so stoic and serious, covered in glitter and smelling of fish. She realized that she probably didn't fare so well, either, and this only fueled her laughter more.
Suddenly, someone in the crowd shouted: "IT'S A DUCK!"
That was the final straw for Phoebe. The Wildclaw burst out in laughter as Vita looked behind her to see who had called out. Even as the clan leader turned her gaze back to glare at Phoebe, her laughter did not cease. The situation was just too funny!
"C'mon, Vita!" shouted Rubex. The Imperial had spotted his friend flutter around Phoebe's face and decided to cut the guard some slack. "The clan is unharmed, and they're all enjoying themselves! Give her a break!"
Vita looked at him, clearly unamused, but Rubex didn't not withdraw his gaze. Finally, with a sigh, Vita relented.
"Very well," Vita sighed. She looked back to Phoebe, a dead serious look in her violet eyes. "But only this once."
"Understood, m'am," Phoebe replied, watching her clan leader fly away. She saw Rubex send a knowing glance at her and she burst out laughing again.
Of course she did, how else could she look at the entire clan and not laugh at how bright everyone looked?! Of course she had helped the bombers deploy their loads here, this was too good!
