B I O G R A P H Y

There is always, inevitably, things that get lost at sea; flotsam and jewelry and bottles and whatever else one could probably think of. It's so much stuff that surely, if she just casts a little spell to redirect to her the shiny little trinkets, the bits of lace not yet unraveled, not yet faded… no one would mind, no one would even notice; after all, it's not as if anyone has come back for most of these kinds of ordinary things.

As the years pass, the little bits and bobs she's managed to accumulate have been sorted into a wondrous collection that glitter in the walls of her lair.

Sometimes, if there's an item that she doesn't particularly like but still is in good condition, she'll take it to others and sell it for a price. But other times, when she finds an item that seems to have quite a bit of emotional value (love-letters in bottles, lockets of dear ones), she tries her hardest to retrace it back to its owner, and if she can't find the original owner, she'll put it in a special box to safekeep.

She's fond of vintage lace and strings of pearls, and adorns herself with those, in particular guarding the lace jealousy (after all, good lace is hard to come by)!

BACKSTORY

She cannot remember when she started collecting trinkets.

Perhaps it reminded her of home, of the jewels and accessories her father would shower upon her. Of the carefully crafted decorations from shells and lace her mother had made for her. Of her room, every little trinket showcased on a shelf like a trophy. Like a bittersweet nostalgia, the memories the only thing keeping them alive.

But they were not alive, were they?

She ran when the news reached her. Away from the cold, lonely room. She picked up her trinkets, her jewels and accessories - as many as she could, at least - and ran. It was a stupid thing to do, but she ran. Ran somewhere much colder and harsher than the place she grew up in, perhaps hoping the ice would chill her heart to stone.

It did not.

She found comfort in those carefully made accessories. Still felt the lingering warmth upon them. Perhaps she had felt the need for more. More of those little trinkets, just like the ones her father had found for her, more of those little pieces of string and lace that could piece together something wonderful.
