A Charming Merchant Quote Quote Quote Quote The youngest of a once poor family of merchants, Imoen has had the luxury of not knowing what a life of strife felt like. Anything he wanted, he got. Any wish he might have had (and spoiled as he was, there was a lot) was instantly granted. He ate the finest of meals and preened in the finest of silks, and he and his family were safe, rich, and happy. As happy as they could be, that was. Due to his parent's fame and fortune, they were too busy to care for their children. The elder bunch helped with trade and were building their own branches to further their success, and the younger ones were left to their own devices, expectation heavy on their shoulders. Imoen disliked having to learn the parchment and quill of their trade, but no one could deny his uncanny talent for charm and deceit. He trained on his siblings, his friends, the servants. He honed his ability until he could wrap anyone around his claw with a single flick of his silver tongue. He was powerful, and he knew it, but the every day drone of glamour and glitter became too much for him. With quick goodbyes (a letter left on his pillow), Imoen set off on his own to seek adventure and fun. His travels brought him to many lands he had only heard of, and he was left wondered and amazed at all he saw, all he spoke with. At home, it was so easy to lay a sweet smile and construct a few tailored words. But here, his charms failed, he was turned away, he was charmed and bamboozled himself. There were those who were too dim to see past his games, and there were those who turned the tables on him. With every fumble, Imoen fell deeper and deeper in love with this lifestyle. Eventually, he stumbled upon the Light domain to enjoy the new scenery and start off with a new slate. He made his routine, he made new friends, flitted between partners, and found himself enamoured by a quiet Coatl stalking the marketplace, scales like the prettiest sand and eyes like the glittering sun above. With all his silver tongued perception, Imoen found himself uncertain for the first time. After much pressing and prodding (and, alright, stalking), he wriggles a name out of his little crush and gets his homestead. With a hop in his step, Imoen finds himself at House Galla, intent on capturing Frosting's heart for him to keep. |
