S erpentine is a delicate, dainty dragon who grew in the harsh icewastes of the Icewarden's domain. Life was fraught with sickness, starvation, and the bitter cold; but she had found her enjoyment in carving ice into beautiful statues which she would then breathe life into. For years and years she honed her craft, until finally, after selling her work to collectors and travelers guised as 'lucky charms', she made enough coin to set off to easier - and warmer - pastures.

Those pastures meant more materials, more statues. She couldn't carve ice anymore, as it would only melt. The fleeting nature of such beauty displeased her. She wanted something more... permanent. In the desert, she met a dashing Imperial male and was smitten immediately; nearly before learning his name! He dug through sand and grit to find her only the finest of sandstone, and barked her prices loud and clear amongst bustling markets of merchants and buskers. When he fell ill and passed, however, she was devastated. Like the ice before, the tragically fleeting beauty of their blossoming relationship greatly upset her, and she would do anything at all to extend the time they had together.

S he met a traveling gemstone trader. He sold such dazzling stones, from amethyst to emerald to diamond, mined from quarries of colorful granite and shiny volcanic glass. Serpentine knew that this would be her calling - her most important project yet. With all that she had left to her name, she began buying jade. Her carving of her lost mate took up every waking moment, even to the point where she felt weak and starved. But after what felt like millennias... it was done. Magatama was a perfect visage of him, and though limited her memories was enough to instill the life in him which she missed so much. He couldn't talk, but she knew he was thinking... and it was enough. They were together again.

Reunited with the love of her life and satisfied, the aging Sepentine found the first clan that would accept her and settled down. Whether or not her new clanmates liked her did not matter... as all she wanted was to spend her golden years with her love.

But she didn't have to worry about that. With her gentle personality, almost everyone took a liking to her despite how quiet and reserved she tends to be. Most hatchlings adored her, adored Magatama (to the point of playing on him as he stood there motionlessly) and rushed to feel the fluff on her seafoam-colored chest as she told them stories when they were small enough to cuddle up next to her. She's clan Suntalon's resident 'grandma'.
