History
Born into the exiled Clan of Iridescent Ice, Monsoon was never meant to born. None of her Clanmates were. They had long since been shunned from the Icewardens domain, left to freeze in the empty tundras. Monsoon had been born to a Gaoler mother and Tundra father, a common occurrence in her slowly dwindling Clan. There was only a handful of them left, and none of them happy with each other, tensions never settled and bad blood always stayed.
Clan Iri had at once seen hope for their few members remaining after their exile, with a similarly punished Clan of Tundras meeting on their path, and the two joining forces, but it had been too long since their future had been bright. Their Clan was dying, and despite the truth being soon approaching, there was nowhere left for them to go, in fear of breaking their exile and facing their punishment.
Monsoon refused to let herself become like the rest of her Clan, doomed to a fate she didn't provoke. Fear had often stopped her from leaving, a modern society unknowing to one half of her lineage, and the other half being supposedly impossible. Even with the fear behind her decision still real, she'd rather live a life she made in a world she didn't know than live and die with her Clan.
After her decision was made, nothing could have changed her mind. While Monsoon knew she couldn't stay in her Clan, it felt wrong to leave them to the lonely, pitiful fate she was running from. They wouldn't have listened to her, stuck in their ways, but she knew there was at least one she could save. Without another thought, Monsoon stole her little half-brother from their mother, and ran from the Clan she'd been born from.
With her new life beginning, Monsoon left for the other Flights of the world. She never stayed in one place, out of fear of falling into old habits. She was desperate to leave the side of her she gained from her family behind, and yet, when she found the limp body of a Banescale washed up on the shore, generations of hatred and fear bled through into her life. Clanmates had told her growing up, their breed was long since wiped out, taken by the Gaolers of past, and despite their legends, an undoubtedly picture perfect Banescale lay at her feet. However, no legend had ever spoken of the supposedly violent breed as small and as pitiful as the Hatchling she had found. It wasn't the childs fault for being what she was, and with that thought easing her fears, Monsoon took in her discovery as a member of her family. Her new daughter, Maelstrom, would help her, she decided, help her show that she wasn't her families fears and anxieties.
The discovery and adoption of Maelstrom began the next era in Monsoons life, and helped her realize what she wanted to do. With a newly found passion, Monsoon dedicated herself to a new life of aiding the exiles of the modern world, whatever their reasonings may be. Her Pack, as she would later call it, would bring home and shelter to those on the run, or forced from their homes.
Her Pack would fluctuate with time, with members coming and going, and a tightly knit few staying without the thought of leaving. They would travel from Clan to Clan, to aid with whatever problems that would arise within their hosts, before leaving to help the next one. It was with these travels that she found Embersurge Sanctuary, a Clan that held it's own moral code right up there wit hers.
