Similar to werewolves, Moonbeasts undergo a Moon-influenced transformation. However, there are major differences. All have a permanent beast-like appearance and by night they 'lose control' becoming savage, bloodthirsty, and destructive.

The degree to which they lose control depends on the phase of the moon.

Physical features such as claws, fangs, and muscular build might become more pronounced and exaggerated as the moon phase progresses towards Full. Some Moonbeasts have worked so hard to discipline themselves that they only lose complete control on nights of a Full Moon.

"Earth Moonbeasts say the natural way of the moon is to revolve around the earth, so they refuse to revolve their lives around the Moonbeast inside. Many focus their energy on staying grounded and refuse to see their Moonbeast self as part of who they are. They are the most prone to struggle with their duality and turn against their own kind. They tend to be reliable, strong-willed, and excellent mentors, but extremely unpredictable when Uncontrolled."
