Notus

Notus, the Wind-touched mage.
Wind magic seeps out of his scales, shimmers just below the surface, and when he casts his sight to a faraway place, his spirit temporarily leaving his body, his eyes glaze over green and Wind magic pours forth from their sockets. During that time, he is blind to his surroundings and unable to move, but can still hear. This has led to some very close calls when he was snuck up on while projecting his sight, and could only hear his attackers, the sound of snarls and footfalls and swords being unsheathed, and every time he could only just return to his body in time to dodge out of the way and flee. He isn't a fighter, that he knows. Because of these experiences, he's skittish and easily spooked when it comes to sounds, especially if he can't rely on his eyes to tell him what they come from. His sight is incredible, like an eagle's, so the times when he's projecting it and blind to his own surroundings make him feel very vulnerable and exposed. It's also counterintuitive for him to remember that what he sees while projecting isn't what's actually around his physical body, and that he has to navigate purely by hearing, smell and touch if something happens, because he usually relies on his sight so much in everyday life, which is part of the reason why he has the ability to send it out like a messenger pigeon, which results in him having to rely on his other senses because his sight is too good, instead of not good enough. He has to suppress his sight and concentrate on his other senses, which is confusing, mindboggling and surprisingly difficult.
