Hemlock

Hemlock is a rather odd, yet talented and kindhearted dragon. He has been unable to speak since he was a hatchling, but is still very expressive in his body language, using a variety of gestures that are common among all races of dragon to communicate. He uses these in conjunction with his own unique form of draconic sign language, assigning specific gestures to items or ideas as they are brought up in speech. Hemlock is an astoundingly patient dragon, as he believes that he's returning the favor for the people who were patient with him as he was learning how to find his "voice". He is also quite the master of dry humor, and has made even the sternest of dragons laugh.


Around the rest of the clan, Hemlock is more social than one would think. He likes to joke around with everyone when he's in the mood for it. He also travels quite frequently to the woodlands to practice archery, hoping to hone his hunting skills. When he gets back, he readily shares whatever he finds on his little trips. On occasions when he feels upset, he doesn't like to stick around and mope, so he ventures into the forest nearby the river to relax and reflect on things. He is mostly seen in the dining area enjoying a snack during the day, and when he has a dream when he goes to sleep at night, he tells his fellow dragons about it the next morning.

Hemlock's history is a bit on the somber side. He hatched in the Everbloom Gardens into an enormous family of over ten that seemed to love him very much, but although he was never alone, he always felt lonely on the inside.

Through an adoption process, Hemlock was taken in by a family of Skydancers, and there he met his stepsister Apidae. They became very tightly knit, and by the time they were both adults they were inseparable. Deciding to move out on their own, Hemlock and Apidae chose to move out together, and stumbled upon Minerva's clan on the way to the Shrieking Wilds. They received an invitation by Minerva herself to join them, and to this day, both have been part of their enormous new family for years.
