HALT BEFORE EXALT!
I am a Traveling Dragon! |
Uh-oh, looks like this little bee wandered a little too far from her home lair (
and now she's off to see the world! If ever you feel the need to exalt, she'd really appreciate it if you could just return her to the home lair, or to the 'Dragons Off To See The World' thread, here. This is not necessary, but she would be very grateful!

Lymeria is the firstborn from two nobles of the Nova Imperos Court (@BelialsWrath), only minutes older than her brother, Lavenar. Proudly carrying both her parents' genes, she used most of her time to frolick around the Court's terrains, near pools, and forests, making friends as she moved from place to place. She has an incredible nack of memorizing where she goes and knows the terrains like the back of her claw, which was quite helpful when she and the others went hunting or scavenging.
> Long after going through the same ways as she did, her mother Aage proposed that she visit the court's sister clan, also known as the Aethrea Clan (@LaSilva007) to expand her horizon, just as her brother had left the lair shortly. Lymeria settled within the clan quickly, which was full of Guardians just as herself, coming to know and respect their governing monarch, Yminthe, and even began to spend her days in the company of an Imperial named Raysel, although their relationship didn't develop into something more intimate as the young Guardian would be travelling once again.
> At some point she reached the Ashfall waste where she stayed with a clan of fire dragons. She stayed with them for quite some while and she even mated with one of the residents. Once the hatchlings where old enough to set out on their own she decided it was time to continue her journey.
> Lymeria considered returning home, but she was a Guardian, after all - she should try to find her charge before she returned to the clan of her birth. If she ever did - perhaps her charge would dictate where she lived.
The truth was, she had no idea how to go about finding a charge. A worthy individual, object, or place. That could be anything! Did she just keep moving until she saw something or someone she liked? Everyone said you just knew.
Her travels eventually led her to the city of Caesura, at the edge of the Windswept Plateau. She passed some time there, meeting other travelers, hoping that maybe a town of travelers in the flight of travelers would help her get some insight.
Instead of insight, she met an enthusiastic, hyperactive Mirror named Euphoria, who had a sort of solution for her. "Come back home with me!" Euphoria suggested. "Get a new home base and work from there. My parents practically collect Guardians. I'm sure some of them can help you."
Perhaps some of them could have, if any of them had been there. When they arrived, they found a thoroughly abandoned village, with buildings either falling down or deliberately demolished, tunnels blocked off or filled in, and the wreckage being reclaimed by the jungle growth already. This only briefly fazed Euphoria, though. "I bet I can find some of the trees," she said, which seemed nonsensical - they were surrounded by trees on all sides, so it wouldn't be much of a search - until Euphoria returned at sundown with a pair of tree dragons in tow. She could have just waited; as the sun set, a number of other dragons, most of them brown, green, or brown and green, began emerging from the undergrowth or landing in the treetops.
Euphoria was just as delighted as her name would suggest; she greeted one of the mirrors with an enthusiastic pounce and a boisterous wrestling match. She had plenty of catching up to do, it seemed. Over the next few days, while Euphoria disappeared into the trees with her old clanmates, Lymeria got to know a fellow Guardian, Sonia, whose charge was an ordinary-looking tree. "It's like a sense of peace," Sonia told her. "When I was a hatchling, I'd wander all over, not even knowing what I was looking for. And then I found the tree and it was the one place I didn't feel restless."
It was some kind of guidance, anyway. And it helped explain the restlessness she'd always felt. When Euphoria had finished catching up with former clanmates, Lymeria was eager to follow her to Light Flight territory - not because she wanted to settle there, but because she wanted to move on.
Euphoria's family had established an impressive home near Lanternlea Port, and Lymeria was almost tempted to extend her stay in the comfortable room she was assigned, but there was that restlessness again. Whatever she was after, it wasn't close by. It was time to move on.
> Moving on to soothe her restless soul she managed to find a town nestled in the shadow region by a river. The Driftwood Criers was a clan of dragons from all over the world. Every element and kind. They were dragons who felt as if they didn't belong so they craved a town where everyone belonged. Her feelings didn't wavier to stay but this place gave her motivation to travel another day!
