"Oh, hello there, my name is Cerium Whisker, and this is the first test of Project Pearlgear... "
A screech crackles through the audio. The dragon chuckles.
"I know, Gaster. Title is work in progress. Anyway, lets get on seeing if this works."
There is a clicking sound, then a loud whirring.
"IT WORKS? THIS EAR-"
There is the sound of an explosion, and the audio crackles harshly again. The dragon coughs hard.
"Knew it was too good to be true. Don't worry, lets... try this again."
Test 12
"Alright, test 12, week 4 of Project Pearlgear... Let's see if it works this time..."
There's a click, then a coughing noise and a small explosion. The dragon sighs.
"Mhm... that's about right... Welp, lets rebuild and make a few adjustments and... try again...
Test 40
"Dad's threatening to pull out my resources if I don't make it work, Gaster..."
There's a quiet squawk.
"I know, it's not fair... but we have to get it to function. We have two weeks... let's make it work."
The other creature makes a quiet noise of agreement. After the switch is flicked, it whirs for about two minutes before making a wheezing noise and the sound of metal crashing to the ground. The dragon chokes out a sob.
Test 60
"Our final shot... it better work... if it doesn't, I'll have to leave the clan..."
A questioning squawk.
"No, you wouldn't be able to come, G... One last try.... before I go..."
There's a click. Silence. Then, a whistle and a crackle. The dragon gasps. You can hear his excitement as he talks.
"OH MY GOSH PROJECT PEARLGEAR HAS WORKED! IT'S FUNCTIONING! ITS UP AND RUNNING G!"
The squawk is delighted. There's a faint click and thump as the device moves over.
"H-hello there, Pearlgear. Welcome to the world... My name is Cerium. I've been waiting for you, for so... so long..."

Pearlgear was constructed to guard the mighty Dreamforge from attack. Commissioned by the forgemaster Koiwhisker himself, Pearlgear is fully automotive. He is lightning quick and hits like an earthquake, and unlike other battle droids he does not make much noise. Pearlgear is programmed with the most intricate AI ever created, able to respond to stimuli much like any dragon. If it wasn't for the fact his hide was entirely constructed of titanium plates, one could mistake him for a dragon of flesh and blood. Some debate whether the fact he was constructed matters. After all, he has his own personality and his own mind. After all, if a creature made of metal and circuits has a personality and self awareness, is it really a robot in any way other than the purely technical sense?
He is a calm, well mannered thing who takes phrases extremely seriously. He doesn't understand what a metaphor is. For example, if a dragon is to mention how they want to kill another in front of Pearlgear, he will list a number of viable methods to do it, though still would advise against it and refuse to give out information on how to hide the body. It is rumoured he knows the answer to every question that could be asked.
